According to Article 57 of the 1976 Constitution: "The home is inviolable. No one is permitted to enter another person's home without the approval of the respective person, apart from representatives of the competent state organs and under the conditions defined by law." Article 58 of the 1976 Constitution guaranteed the "secrecy of correspondence ... except in the cases of the investigation of a crime, a state of emergency, or of war."
