In Canada the "Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms" of 1982 a part of the Canadian constitution that set in stone the fundamental rights and freedoms afforded to all Canadians. It is proceeded by the Constitution of Canada adopted in 1867, but the constitution makes no such explicit protection for the freedom of expression.
