The Constitution of Brunei Darussalam was signed on September 29, 1959. Part II 3.1 states the official religion is Islam, but also states other religions maybe practiced in peace and harmony. Government official must adhere to Islam. Part IX 84.1 states that all no person shall be appointed to any office not professing the Islamic religion.
