Senegal
Freedom of expression was first mentioned in Article 4 of Senegal’s 1959 Constitution. However, as a French colony before 1958 and then as a part of the Mali Federation, the right was guaranteed by the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the 1959 Constitution of the Mali Federation, respectively.
