Freedom of Association	History	- The first Constitution of Kuwait was ratified in 1962 and reinstated in 1992. Freedom of association is protected in Part III Article 43 which provides that “The liberty of forming societies and unions on a national basis and by peaceful means is guaranteed in conformity with the conditions and the stipulations specified by Law; and no person shall be constrained to join any society or union” (constituteproject.org). “Kuwait 1962 (Reinst. 1992) Constitution.” Constitute. Freedom of Expression	History	Kuwait’s 1962 Constitution grants “freedom of opinion and scientific research” in Article 36. Prior Orders of Council did not explicitly grant these freedoms. Freedom of Religion	History	The first assertion of the right to freedom of religion in Kuwait is in the Constitution of 1962, ratified on November 11, 1962. Freedom of the Press	History	Article 37 of the Kuwait’s 1962 Constitution protects press freedom: “Freedom of the press and of publication is guaranteed, subject to the conditions and stipulations prescribed by Law” (Constitute Project, “Kuwait's Constitution of 1962, Reinstated in 1992” ).
Privacy Rights	History	Kuwait’s 1962 constitution has been reinstated twice, but it does not mention privacy rights generally.
